ATC

The A2MC system can control a variety of different automatic tool changer types:

• 7,8, 10 or 21 tool capacity “magazine” style tool changers are the most commonly used tool changer systems.  Magazine style holds the tools in a “six shooter pistol” style arrangement and uses an air cylinder to extract and load the tools.
  
  
• Magazine style tool changers are limited to 1.5 inch or 38 mm diameter tools.  For tools larger than this a rotary or carrousel style tool changer is used.  These tool changers have a capacity of eight tools.
  
  
• “Line rack” tool changers come in either 6 or 10 tool capacity.   These tool changers are the most inexpensive types to implement.

Most these tool changers operate using either a 21G ATC Modbus Controller which is pictured on the right.  The rotary tool changer has a specific Rotary ATC Modbus Controller.

All the controllers can work with either HSD or Colombo spindles.
